interesting study about how close siblings are and the risk of autism:

"Close birth spacing may put a second-born child at higher risk for autism, suggests a preliminary study based on more than a half-million California children.
Children born less than two years after their siblings were considerably more likely to have an autism diagnosis compared to those born after at least three years.
The sooner the second child was conceived the greater the likelihood of that child later being diagnosed with autism. The effect was found for parents of all ages, decreasing the chance that it was older parents and not the birth spacing behind the higher risk."

not sure, it says it might be depletion of nutrients in the mothers body.

im always fascinated by these studies and wonder how much modern living has to do with it as well, but i guess we wont ever know the true reason for why some of us have these things and others dont might just be the genetic pool having an off day

hope u are well

Very interesting thinking that it's due to a lack of nutrients. My first pregnancy was my son. He's been diagnosed with asperger's, adhd, ocd, asthma, eczema, seasonal allergies, nut allergy, too many ear infections to count, he is on his 4th set of eartubes, had his tonsils and adenoids removed, and most recently had a kidney stone. Poor guy is only 8. So that's my first kiddo.

Second pregnancy was right away. They aren't even a year apart. I'd say due to my first son not sleeping threw the night I got a lot less sleep during the second pregnancy and was more stressed due to personal issues. Otherwise the pregnancies were identical. And she's perfectly healthy. So I guess the theory doesn't apply in all cases.
